To your Health, your Wealth, and your Happiness!
First of all, good health is fundamental to life and your happiness. What matters most is regaining your health when your health is failing! So make your health a number one priority!
Furthermore, maintaining a healthy life requires a few fundamentals. Consequently, a healthy diet, exercise, and activities that stimulate your mind are all important.
Good eating habits and exercise are essential! As Reported in the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports, and Nutrition:
“Unhealthy eating habits have contributed to the obesity epidemic in the United States. About one-third of U.S. adults (33.8%) are obese. Approximately 17% (or 12.5 million) of children and adolescents aged 2—19 years are obese. Even for people at a healthy weight, a poor diet is associated with major health risks. Risks that can cause illness and even death. These include heart disease, hypertension (high blood pressure), type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, and certain types of cancer. By making smart food choices, you can help protect yourself from these health problems.” The President’s Report
In addition, you must create enough wealth to have the life and the lifestyle that you want!
Studies have shown that individuals reach a minimum level of personal happiness when they earn at least $60,000.00 USD a year. At an hourly rate, that is $30.00 per hour for an 8 hour day, 5 days a week. Allowing 2 hours a day for commuting and additional work activities, the hourly rate drops to $24.00 per hour. Even so, those individuals feel they have enough money to live comfortably – to buy quality food and entertainment. They don’t live extravagant lives and take expensive vacations several times a year. At that level, they are minimally happy because they have enough to afford the things they need to maintain a normal life. They can save a little money and to pay for occasional entertainment.
Is having a minimally comfortable life worth spending 10 hours a day working a job for 45 to 50 years? In today’s world there should be a better way to achieve far better results without all the time spent working for someone else! Why hasn’t technology changed our work patterns so that people work less, produce more, and spend more time with their families and friends? Instead, technology has displaced jobs and made it harder, in some cases, for average working people just to survive.
