You must regularly use as many of these recommendations as possible. Mix them up day to day and you will become healthier from the inside out, which will be reflected by your improved appearance!
The Aging Process – Drinks That Slow It Down
Water
Probably the most important and also the most neglected resource that we have to slow the aging process is water. Our bodies are composed of more than 70 percent water. Every organ needs water to function properly and be healthy. Our skin is the largest organ and without adequate water will become dry, and our hair and nails will become brittle. Also, the lack of water leads to a build‐up of toxins in our bodies and that can disrupt every process in our body. So, drink plenty of fresh, pure water. Water that’s not chlorinated or Fluoridated.
Fresh‐Squeezed Grapefruit Juice
Grapefruit contains spermidine, which aids cellular growth. Also, citrus fruits contain a tremendous amount of vitamin C, which is vital for collagen production. Collagen is the substance in our skin that allows it to be flexible and strong. Aging causes collagen production to decrease, which in turn causes wrinkles and dry skin – prominent signs of aging.
Wine
Red wine contains resveratrol and has been shown to promote the “longevity” gene while also retarding inflammation and diseases related to aging. Or course, excessive consumption can excel the aging process as well as destroy the liver, so remember to limit it to a glass a day.
Tea
Catechins and antioxidants in teas block neuronal (nerve) death, and help boost the immune system. Teas, such as green tea, help reduce inflammation which promotes a healthier body. Also, tea is a much healthier alternative to coffee. Coffee contains cadmium which has been shown to cause free radicals that contribute to joint damage.
Soy Milk
For those you can tolerate soy, the phytochemicals in soy products such as tofu, tempeh, and edamame help maintain the elastin and collagen in skin and that helps prevent wrinkles. Also, the isoflavones in soy may protect against skin damage from UV light. If you are soy intolerant, there are plenty of alternatives to this drink, so not to worry!
Coconut Water
You’ve probably heard that coconuts contain an abundance or minerals, electrolytes, and vitamins, but they also contain cytokinins, a plant hormone that promotes cellular growth. In addition, they also hinder cellular aging! Ever notice how the Hawaiians seem to have such youthful looking skin?

Aloe Vera is an important plant for maintaining youthful looking skin. Its amino acids and nutrients help replace skin cells and maintain collagen. In addition, its antioxidants promote skin regeneration and maintain its elasticity. Also, it’s a great moisturizer for skin! Apply it directly to the skin to keep it moist and supple.
Hot Chocolate
Cocoa beans have an abundance of antioxidants, flavonoids, and polyphenols. All, of which, slow the aging process and help reduce damaging free radicals in the body. The best source of cocoa is from cocoa nibs, but they may not be appealing in taste to many. There are however many other wholesome choices of dark chocolate without refined cane sugar, such as the LivingRaw Darkest Cacao Truffles, or Sunspire Grain Sweetened Chocolate Chips.
